The CFTC Social Media Project

Greetings All.

This post has taken me almost an entire year to write.  When we first had our site revamped, I was really excited that we would have a Blog page tucked away under our WOD tab.  I set a goal for myself to write one blog post a week.  Simple enough, I thought.  Got off to a great start.. wrote an informative post about visiting other CrossFit boxes when traveling.  But, then something.. or rather, nothing, happened.
You see, I consider myself to be a bit of a perfectionist.  I like to think this is a positive quality.  (Our CFTC members may be having a laugh right now.)  This often manifests itself into neatly stacked dumbbells, perfectly aligned rowers, and freshly scrubbed chalky spots.
The downside however, is that sometimes I feel paralyzed to start a task because I feel overwhelmed by my own expectations.  Such is the case here.  I love our Townies, we are so fortunate to have an amazing mix of very intelligent, hard working, fun people that I get to share my days with.  They know my quirks, my sense of humor, my imperfections.  I feel safe in my element, and confident with my words.  There is something about this forum that is very intimidating though.  Our reach has grown.  There will be people reading this who have never met me, never stepped foot into Town Center.  How will my message be received?  What if I say the wrong thing, or take the wrong tone?  Someone out there might not take that first step.  I feel that pressure.  Here, I am tasked with being the voice of our community.
Vulnerability.  I guess that's what it is really.  I'm sure many people feel the same way when they first walk through our doors at CFTC.  It takes courage to put yourself out there.  It is my hope that our weekly blog post (every Wednesday) will be met with the same welcome that our guests and prospective members feel.  The contributors on this forum are not professional writers.  We're just normal people who want to share our love of CrossFit and healthy living.  This won't be perfect, but it will be genuine.
That brings us to this.. our Social Media Project.
Our goal is to provide daily content to our community that will inspire, inform, and engage.  This is an ambitious undertaking that will follow the format below.  (please excuse the trite titles)
Motivation Monday- Short and sweet, an inspiring, or thought provoking quote to start the week
Triumph Tuesday- Recognition of our athletes improvements and accomplishments
Weblog Wednesday- This could be anything, our CFTC coaches have the green light to share on the topic of their choice
Top Tips Thursday-  Coaches commentary with linked article hilighting relevant topics for education and improvement
Furtherance Friday- Promoting upcoming events and happenings at CFTC
Snapshop Saturday- Our best photos from the week
CTA Sunday- Call to action, our reach out to encourage the growth of our community
